Having trouble with the keyboard, so missed yesterday evening's post, so here it is. Last night the wind was howling something awful, and when we went on our exursion this morning, it was windy and rainy. I feel sorry for people who are here camping and trekking. One of the couples we met on the boat were staying in a yurt last night. Would love to know how that went. So this morning was an excursion to Blue Lagoon or Laguna Azul. We saw huge herds of guanaca, at least 40 or more. The males fight by trying to bite the other's testicles. The falls on the Torre river are amazing and the lagoon was not very blue that morning. Mostly we stayed in the van. In the afternoon, I went on the Hunter's Hike. The sun came out, so the water in the lakes was a startling blue. We saw more guanaca, rheas, condors, flamingos and swans, but no pumas, thank God. There are petroglyphs on the underside of a cliff that are reportedly 1000 years old, but our guide thought it was more like 100. Cool anyway. Lovely dinner of hake with an avocado sauce and chocolate ice cream to die for. We are eating well.
