Siem Reap Finale

Another day, another temple.  The first was Ta Prohm which has been left somewhat covered by tree roots and vegetation.  Apparently this is where several of the scenes from Tomb Raider were shot.
Then we went to where a family makes noodles by the traditional method.  They use manual labor, pressing the soaked rice to make rice flour, then pounding it to make it very fine.  They mix it into a dough and press it through a can with fine holes in the bottom to extrude the noodles, then cook them over an open fire.  Very labor intensive.  Sadly we could not eat them as they were made with questionable water.
Then on to the last temple built 200 years before Angkor Wat, so very Hindu influenced.  They used pink limestone instead of gray, so it has a different feel.  Again, amazingly intricate carvings.
After that, we were on our own, so picked up a quick lunch of stir fry, then back to the market for some retail therapy.  The evening was spent in the hotel bar with friends we have made, then to the night market and pizza on Pub Street.  We ate at a place called Khmer Family Kitchen.  They advertised Khmer cooking classes.  Let’s just say, we could have given them a class on pizza making.  Dean would not order the crocodile pizza.  :(
